A Brief History of Blues-Tango Crossover

2000-2004, San Francisco-Portland-Denver-Seattle: Some swing dancers try tango. Many fall in love with it.

2004, Oakland: Paul and Sharon invite Homer to teach tango as part of their Oakland Swing Dance Festival.

2004, Portland: Dylan starts his Fusion Dance, 2nd Saturday of every month, mixing Blues, Swing and Tango tandas at Tango Berretin.

Nov-13-04, SF: Homer attends Mihai's LindyBooty Blues workshop with Jerry, Heidi, Solomon & Kelly and loves every minute of it. He says he could teach Jerry and Heidi's micro-blues class entirely as a tango class.

Nov-17-04, SF: Cell Space Blue Theme Night. Mihai & Kelly teach blues and perform to Andre Previn's "Black & Blue." Mihai DJs and Homer starts his love affair with playing blues music for tango dancers.

Dec-11-04, Portland: At Scott Weinstein's request but without his help, Dylan and Mihai put together a successful Fusion Blues Workshop with Alex Krebs, Mia, Solomon, Jerry, Kathy, Mihai & Dylan.

Jan-10-05, Santa Rosa: Richard Fourzon, inspired by the Portland workshop he just attended, starts working with Mihai on another Fusion Blues Workshop in the North Bay.

Feb-11-05, Emeryville: Homer adds a blues room to his Allegro After-Hours Party. Mihai teaches a class for tango dancers with Tina Donth and DJs blues.
